Taster Day – Tuesday 14 March

I was asked by JFS School to organise a taster day for their students (16-18 year olds), studying Business & Hospitality. Having previously organised taster days for the school, I knew their expectations and their aims and objectives of the day.

I chose The Stafford a new business partner of Springboard. The Stafford is tucked away in the heart of historic St James’s, and just minutes from London’s iconic landmarks and vibrant West End, The Stafford London is one of the finest luxury hotels in the Capital. Experience unrivalled luxury in one of London’s most historic and quintessentially English five-star hotels.

On arrival at the hotel, I was taken to the 380 year old Wine Cellars which house up to 8000 bottles of the finest wines. Built in the 17th Century by Lord Francis Godolphin, and used as an air-raid shelter in World War II.

The 12 students promptly arrived with their teacher and all looked very smart and presentable. The hotel kindly offered a range of pastries and refreshments.

We were then given a tour of the hotel and the different areas. It truly was spectacular and both the students and I were in awe!

Next, we had a short presentation from Mark Surguy, Executive Assistant General Manager about the hotel and met various Ambassadors (staff that are proud to promote hospitality) within the hotel.

Mark gave a fabulous talk on the importance of customer service, complaint handling and the students took part in various role plays.

At the end of the taster day – students provided a short evaluation of their experience.
