Your job is to monitor the catering staff and area – you’ll need to train new staff and look after the old. During the rush you may be expected to pitch in front of house

Job Summary

  • Supervise staff; including planning shifts and rotas
  • Organise and motivate the catering team
  • Recruit and train new permanent and casual staff
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly observed
  • Maintain stock levels and order new supplies when required
  • Increase the use of the facilities for meetings, conferences and exhibitions, for residential groups and holiday makers
  • Ensure a high level of satisfaction with the catering services requiring excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Interact with customers if working Front of House during busy hours

Qualifications and Training

You will need a good standard of education and ideally some related qualifications. If you wish to move up the career ladder you may want to look into Hospitality related BTECs and further study in College

Salary Expectations

A Catering Services Supervisor can expect to earn between £18,000 and £23,000 a year.
