Job Summary

  • Assisting guests by carrying luggage, call taxis, take charge of left property, answer queries, take messages for guests, look after keys for the hotel (and guest rooms if they are not of the electronic type), get theatre tickets for guests, book hired cars etc
  • Dealing with the mail
  • Be alert for security threats
  • May be called upon to help housekeeping, restaurant or banqueting staff set up rooms, or move larger items of furniture
  • May assist guests with parking cars
  • If you are on night duty, you may be responsible for serving snacks and early breakfasts, delivering newspapers, wake-up calls to guests, and for dealing with departures
  • Coping with a fire or other emergency, ensuring that help is called promptly, and guests evacuated safely
