The Floor Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and the hygiene of the hotel premises.  They are in charge of a team of cleaners, room attendants and floor managers. 

Job Summary

  • Supervise the work of a team of room attendants or housekeeping assistants
  • Informing reception when rooms are ready for re-letting, or there is some problem such as a late departure, or two people seem to have occupied a room let to one person
  • Informing maintenance of repairs or replacements
  • Responsible for issuing cleaning materials to your staff, clean linen and guest suppliers (soap, shampoo, etc.) for their rooms
  • Be alert for safety and hygiene risks, and for security concerns

  • Have hygiene, health and safety knowledge
  • Housekeeping Experience

Qualifications and Training

You don’t need any particular qualifications or training to begin your career as a Floor Housekeeper. You’ll need experience in Housekeeping, and if you want to progress further you may want to consider various hospitality and hygiene certificate and qualifications.

Salary Expectations

A Floor Housekeeper can expect to earn between £16,000 and £25,000 a year
