A Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of rooms at a hotel. You will work with room attendants and cleaners and oversee their work

  • Provide the cleaning and domestic services
  • Collecting linen and laundry
  • Using cleaning materials responsibly
  • Supervising the domestic staff, and seeing that rooms are set up correctly
  • Recording any faults or damage and making arrangements for repairs
  • Recruiting, training and supervising staff

Qualifications and Training

You don’t need any particular qualifications or training to begin your career as a Housekeeper. If you wish to advance you will need various hospitality and hygiene certificate and qualifications under your belt.

Salary Expectations

A Housekeeper can expect to earn between £16,000 and £24,000 a year
