Louise Roberts took part in Springboard’s KickStart programme in 2011. She took part in KickStart to gain employment; she completed a two week work placement working in the kitchen at the Hyatt Regency – The Churchill. Once she completed the programme she successfully secured an apprenticeship with Lexington, it was the point from which Louise completed the KickStart programme that her career as a chef took off.
She is eager to learn and each and every skill she has been taught, including butchery, fishmongery and pastry she has picked up with the ease of someone so naturally talented. Louise recognises that her apprenticeship is not just a training course, it’s a way of life for her and she immerses herself in companywide activity, always being the first to volunteer her time for large company events and wanting to get as much exposure and experience as possible.
Louise juggles attending college every Monday whilst working full-time for Lexington. Always wanting to give something back, she is a key speaker for Springboard, speaking of her experience as an apprentice and ensuring fresh talent is harnessed through the industry, sharing her story and inspiring others to take the same path.
