Commis Chef Park Inn by Radisson Heathrow

Under the direction of the senior manager you are required to provide prompt, courteous and proactive service with the aim to delight our guests and deliver results in accordance with the strategic goals of the department. To be a positive team member within the Kitchen team reflecting the company culture and values. To remain professional, courteous and respectful of other team members and guests. To ensure all work is carried out in line with departmental guidelines, the hotel business plan, corporate guidelines and service concepts.

TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing Activities in the Department 

  • Sets up “mise-en-place” for own section,
  • Prepares and properly garnishes food orders as they are received in accordance with recipes and cooking and presentation specifications,
  • Ensures that food from designated section is delivered on time,
  • Follows proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices at all times,
  • Ensures close down of section in accordance with departmental procedures and standards,
  • Understands and operates by the departmental SOPs in place,
  • Adheres to the company standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation,
  • Upholds all parts of the company brand standards reflecting the company culture and values,
  • A team player with a positive can do attitude,
  • Communicates with internal and external guests in a professional, friendly and courteous manner,
  • Maximises customer satisfaction by promoting hotel services and facilities to guests,
  • Works pro-actively to minimise complaints from guests,

Laws, Regulations and Policies

  • Follows all applicable laws, corporate standards, procedures and guidelines,

Health & Safety

  • Support your line manager in ensuring that Health and Safety Policies are followed and incidents reported in line with the Health and Safety Policy guidelines,
  • Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported appropriately and immediately,
  • Fully understands the Hotel's Health & Safety, fire, emergency and crisis procedures,
  • Follows emergency procedures to provide for the security and safety of guests and team members,
  • Works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others,
  • Supports a safe Hotel by applying and adhering to existing laws and Hotel regulations,
  • Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and notifies your line manager,
  • Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct,
  • Maintains high confidentiality in regards to guest privacy


Miscellaneous

  • Endeavours in position to maximise guest satisfaction,
  • Responsible Business - involved and interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Responsible Business activities within Hotel and department,
  • Attends meetings and trainings as required by your line manager,
  • Assists colleagues to perform similar or related jobs when necessary,
  • Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to Hotel guests,
  • Maintains own and departmental working area and materials clean, tidy and in good working order; report defective materials and equipment to line manager,
  • Continuously seeks to endeavour and improve knowledge of own job function,
  • Operates according to the Hotel's standards and departmental procedures,
  • Maintains close working relationship with all relevant departments,
  • Performs duties and responsibilities as assigned  by your line manager,
  • Is well updated on, and possesses solid knowledge on company, Hotel and departmental standards of operation and procedures
