Since getting involved with Springboard has your life changed?

My life has totally changed now! Without the course I would not be where I am today. I’ve got my confidence back and I’ve started working for a successful restaurant. I enjoy working again and I take pride in what I do. The people at Springboard gave me a reason again and I can’t be more thankful for that.

What are you doing now and where?

I am currently working as a floor waitress for the Beefeater Bar and Grill based in Stirling. I had my two week placement there and they kept me on!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Hopefully I will still be working in hospitality in five years, maybe at a supervisor level. I can go anywhere with these skills, but I would like to be higher up the ladder.

What tips or advice would you give someone considering their career options/getting involved with Diageo Learning for Life?

Don’t be scared or nervous – you can do this! Learning with a group of people you don’t know sounds intimidating, but everyone’s in the same boat! Everything will come in time, all Springboard ask is just to turn up on time and the rest is up to you. It will be worth your while.
