Enterprise advisor scheme – Marriott case study
The Enterprise Adviser scheme is designed to bridge the worlds of industry and education. Marriott recently joined the scheme and undertook training with 20 London hotels and the London Careers Hub with Reed in Partnership. The goal is for each hotel to be assigned to a school or college and the goal to have at least four interactions per year either at the school, the hotel or a work experience placement
The Greater London Marriott hotels are spread across two Career Hubs – Central London and West London (Heathrow). The hotels involved are St Pancras Renaissance, London Edition, Marriott Regents Park, Marriott County Hall, Marriott Maida Vale, Marriott Marble Arch, Marriott Kensington, Heathrow and Heathrow Windsor Marriotts, Park Tower Knightsbridge, Sheraton Grand Park Lane, Marriott Canary Wharf, Marriott Grosvenor Square, Marriott Head Office and JW Marriott Grosvenor House. Each hotel sent a nominated Enterprise Advisor for a day’s training in June 2024.
Marriott has a dedicated coordinator who met and assigned a school or college to the various hotels. Grosvenor House has been assigned the City of Westminster College. Each hotel will work with their school to deliver four to six activities, including a hotel tour, careers fairs, workshops, careers talks and work experience placements for years 10 and 12 in the 2025 summer term. Marriott plans to involve our own apprentices with these activities.
