Restaurants are busy and vibrant places to work. The shifts are often flexible and you may be able to move from section to section to build up your skills and vary the type of work you do.
There are many specialisms and roles within the kitchen, depending on the type of cuisine and service. Front of house, the serving staff are the first to welcome guests with a friendly smile. Customer service is key and serving staff must have great product knowledge.
In-house and on the job training is available. When starting out, there is usually a basic requirement to complete the level 2 food safety qualification and a health & safety course.
